Auro Realty, the real estate arm of the Aurobindo Group, has completed a significant expansion move by acquiring the iconic Taj Banjara property in Hyderabad for approximately Rs 315 crore. The transaction marks one of the most notable real estate deals in the city in recent years, underscoring the company’s broader strategy to strengthen its footprint in key Indian metros.
The property is located in Banjara Hills, one of Hyderabad’s most prestigious commercial and residential corridors known for its concentration of luxury hotels, corporate offices, high-value real estate and proximity to the city’s expanding tech ecosystem. The acquisition includes a land parcel spanning 16,645 square yards and a built-up area of nearly 1.2 lakh square feet, positioning it as a high-value asset within Auro Realty’s growing portfolio.
The deal was formally completed on October 31, accompanied by a stamp duty payment of Rs 17.3 crore. Industry observers note that the transaction highlights rising investor confidence in Hyderabad’s hospitality and commercial real estate markets, especially at a time when the city continues to attract global enterprises and domestic corporate expansions.
Auro Realty has not revealed its redevelopment or operational plans for the Taj Banjara property. However, given its strategic location and brand heritage, the asset offers multiple possibilities ranging from premium commercial development to hospitality-driven redesigns. The company’s recent activities indicate a clear intent to consolidate large, high-value properties that can support long-term revenue streams.
In parallel with the acquisition, Auro Realty is preparing a Rs 20 billion bond issuance to support its expansion pipeline. The planned fundraise signals the company’s readiness to pursue more acquisitions and development projects across major urban centres. With the Indian real estate market witnessing steady demand in both commercial and mixed-use spaces, Auro Realty’s latest move reinforces its ambition to emerge as a key player in large-scale property development.
The acquisition of Taj Banjara stands as a strategic milestone, strengthening the company’s presence in Hyderabad and reflecting the ongoing shift toward high-value asset consolidation in India’s real estate sector.
